Why Weightlifting

The LIFT. from Paul Schneider on Vimeo.

The Snatch and the Clean & Jerk are both power based movements resulting in a total body neuro-endocrine response. In competition, these are the only 2 lifts recognised at the Olympic Games. ALong with the enormous amount of confidence and skill built up, the body's accuracy, coordination, flexibility, control, balance, speed, power, strength and agility are also heightened.

"Truth is, when you work all day, exercising is sometimes the last thing on your mind, with weightlifting, it challenges you both mentally and physically, driving you to break a personal record and continually develop your skills"

As you can see from the above comment, we encourage all our athletes to take up Oly Lifting whether it be for competition or recreationally. The benefits really are astounding! As the ONLY registered club / CrossFit in NSW and our reputation as a professional, athlete producing club. Technique is drilled hard and constantly. We believe that "pre-habilitation" is always better than "rehabilitation" (safety first). You will always be shown how to practice, perform and ramp up for a lift.

The Olympic Lifts can be done by anyone! Especially the ladies, weights will not make you "big and bulky" (a massive misconception), just check out Antonietta down below. She is a competitive CrossFitter and Weightlifter weighing in at only 53 kg. If you've had experience at lifting weights at the local gym, want a new type of challenge altogether, come and try the "Sport of Weight Lifting", the pinnacle of "Doing Weights"!

Our Coaches are all suitably qualified and are currently competing themselves!
