Welcome to the newest chapter in CrossFit Aphesis. We will now implement the "CrossFit Kids" Program into our box. If you have kids or little brothers or sisters who you think will love to try CrossFit out. These up and coming new recruits will pave the way for a generation who will be strong physically & mentally, flexible, coordinated, balanced, agile, powerful and disciplined.
CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down or watered down version of CrossFit, it is entirely, absolutely CrossFit! Geared and designed for a population and the specific developmental needs of that population. (Neurological, cognitive, motor).
Along with the physical stuff, the kids will learn nutrition basics and learn how to sustain healthy growing bodies. Our goal is NOT to get them on the zone diet, but to get them to think and make good choices about what they eat. With very basic concepts in mind such as: "sugar is bad, protein is good and you need to eat some in every meal.
Nuts and seeds are good fats. Eat them and don't avoid them. Pasta, white bread and white rice are not that good for you. Stuff that's red, yellow, green and found in the fruit and vegetable aisle is food for you, eat a lot of it." "Look at your plate, make a fist and eat that much meat, turn your hand over and fill it with nuts and seeds, eat that much good fat, fill the rest of your plate with stuff you found in the fruit and vegetable aisle."(CrossFit Kids.com)
